Company Overview


The Director of Learning and Talent Development is located at our School Support Center in Scottsdale, AZ. Reporting directly to the VP of Talent Development & Curriculum, the Director of Learning and Talent Development designs and implements programs that aim to attract, measure, develop, and manage the organization’s talent pool. The leader is responsible for evaluating the effectiveness of programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals. Programs include new employee and leader onboarding, leadership development, employee engagement, diversity and inclusion, performance management, and succession planning.


  1. Develop and implement programs aligning employee life cycle to organizational strategies and desired outcomes.
  2. Manage new hire orientation and onboarding experiences for new employees and leaders. Assist in the creation of internal company career paths to identify high potential individuals, determine work abilities, and professional support needed to engage and retain talent.
  3. Collect, analyze and maintain data gathered to inform targeted leadership development (e.g., succession planning).
  4. Implement leadership development strategies, tools, and processes to identify learning needs and employee competencies and fill key skill gaps.
  5. Ensure that organization-wide talent management and performance initiatives are focused and aligned on improving operational and program efficiencies and effectiveness.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must understand curriculum and instructional design principles.
  • In-depth knowledge of both adult and child learning principles.
  • Requires proven organization skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be able to work in a team environment.
  • Must be able to work effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to deliver programs and facilitate trainings to various audiences.
  • Ability to turn complex concepts into simple language.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Working knowledge of word processing tools and other relevant software packages
  • Requires the ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English.
  • Travel will be required.

Education or Equivalency:

  • Bachelor's degree in in human resources, business, education, communications or a related field; or an equivalent combination of training and progressively responsible experience that will result in the required specialized knowledge and abilities to perform the assigned work.
  • Master's degree preferred.


  • Requires a minimum of five (5) to seven (7) years of progressive practitioner experience or related experience that demonstrates a high level of understanding of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Experience designing, developing and supporting organization-wide talent management programs that cover performance management, talent development, coaching, succession planning, data analytics and relationship management.
  • Broad HR experience including talent management and performance management.
